Washington, D.C. — May 13, 2026 — America250, the national nonpartisan organization charged by Congress to lead the commemoration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, today announced a new partnership with Xochitl, the premium tortilla chip and salsa brand rooted in time-honored culinary traditions.

Founded in 1995 by Carlos Salinas, Xochitl’s story reflects both the richness of cultural heritage and the promise of the American dream. Salinas learned cherished family recipes at his mother’s side in Mexico and carried those traditions with him when he immigrated to the United States. From his own kitchen, he began crafting fresh salsa using authentic techniques and ultra-fresh ingredients, building a brand grounded in quality, tradition, and community.

“Xochitl’s story embodies the entrepreneurial spirit and pursuit of excellence that defines our nation,” said Rosie Rios, Chair of America250. “As we approach America’s 250th anniversary, partnerships like this highlight the contributions of immigrant founders and family traditions that continue to shape our country’s vibrant tapestry.”

Throughout the Semiquincentennial year, Xochitl will participate in key America250 observances and service initiatives, encouraging Americans to gather, reflect, and give back to their communities in celebration of this historic milestone.

“Coming to this country gave Carlos the opportunity to build something rooted in his family’s traditions while contributing to the communities that welcomed him,” said Carla O’Brien, CMO of Xochitl. “Partnering with America250 allows Xochitl to honor both the heritage that shaped our recipes and the American spirit that made our journey possible. As we look toward this historic anniversary, we are proud to celebrate the values of hard work, innovation, and community that unite us.” To celebrate America’s 250th birthday, Xochitl will be launching red, white, and blue patriotic tortilla chips, made with no artificial colors and avocado oil, that will help all Americans celebrate this summer.  The partnership follows the announcement of Xochitl revamping their full portfolio with avocado oil and a corresponding package refresh with a vibrant, color blocking design. The new, celebratory bag will be rolling into major retailers nationwide including Walmart, Kroger and Costco.
