Cathy Gillespie
Cathy Gillespie has held numerous positions in government and politics over the past 34 years including congressional chief of staff and member of the Presidents Commission on White House Fellows.
She serves as co-chair of the nonpartisan educational 501 (c)(3) Constituting America with Actress Janine Turner (Northern Exposure, Friday Night Lights, Cliffhanger) – and has served in this capacity since Constituting America’s founding in 2010. Constituting America’s mission is to utilize the culture and multi-media outreach such as music, film, internet and social media, to educate, engage and inspire America’s adults and students about the importance of the U.S. Constitution and the foundation it sets forth regarding our freedoms and rights.
Gillespie is active in a number of charitable organizations, having served on the Board of Visitors of Virginia State University, the board of Good Shepherd Housing and Family Services and the board of Bishop Ireton High School.
A graduate of Texas A&M University, she is married to former Counselor to the President, Ed Gillespie. They live in Fairfax County, near George Washington’s Mt. Vernon and have three children.
