Two hundred and forty-nine years ago, the 13 American colonies took an audacious stand for liberty, declaring independence from Great Britain and forging a new nation built on the promise of freedom and self-governance. The Declaration of Independence remains a powerful testament to the American spirit—one of resilience, courage, and the pursuit of a more perfect union. As we reflect on this defining moment, we also look ahead to 2026, when Americans everywhere will come together to commemorate and celebrate 250 years of the nation’s journey. This July 4th, we honor the vision of our Founders and the generations who have worked to expand and uphold the ideals of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
