Katie McCarthy received her M.A. in Public History from American University in May 2020. She loves to learn about the many surprising connections between people, events, and cultural traditions that exist in United States history. She is currently the Education Coordinator at Tudor Place Historic House and Garden in Washington DC. Her previous work includes roles with the National Air and Space Museum and the National Park Service. America’s Field Trip Awardees!
Thousands of students from across the country submitted inspiring entries, responding to the prompt “What does America mean to you?” for the first-ever America’s Field Trip contest. A panel of current and former educators selected 150 students as awardees, hailing from 44 states and territories.
