Victoria Hughes

Victoria Hughes brings to America250 over 40 years of education and nonprofit experience combined with a deep commitment to our American Founding Principles. She began her career as a middle school teacher of American History in suburban Cincinnati during the Bicentennial year. After leaving the classroom, Victoria held senior executive roles in government and nonprofit sector including the U.S. Information Agency, the Charles Koch Foundation, the Heritage Foundation, and the Reason Foundation before returning to her roots in history and civic education.

Hughes served as the Founding President of the Bill of Rights Institute and capped her career with the Ashbrook Center at Ashland University. In both roles Hughes helped thousands of teachers and students strengthen their understanding of America’s history and constitutional self-government. She was also honored to be nominated by President Barack Obama to serve on the Board of the Corporation for National and Community Service, a U.S. federal government agency that engages Americans in service through AmeriCorps, Senior Corps, and other volunteer initiatives.
