America is a beautiful patchwork quilt of different cultures and experiences. It is what makes our nation so great. As an African American homeschool student, I learn firsthand the significant contributions of African Americans to the woven fabric of American society and of their resilience in overcoming obstacles. Our demands for equality and freedom have led to America having to live up to principles described in the constitution. Our experience is an example of how when given lemons in life, make lemonade! This thread in the American experience has been and still is an inspiration to many around the globe.
