To ensure that America250 is the largest and most inclusive commemoration in American history, we’ve created 11 advisory councils to work with the America250 Foundation.
The councils are tasked with increasing the Foundation’s inclusiveness, expanding its capacity and connection to potential partners and stakeholders, and facilitating program development, implementation, and social impact.
Led by two co-chairs, each advisory council is composed of 14 members from a diverse group of experts and thought leaders whose objective is to provide counsel and insight on the planning of programs for America’s 250th anniversary.
Currently, there are several active councils. They include:
- Veterans, Military, and Family Members
- Parks, Preservation, and Public Spaces
- Arts and Culture
- Sports and Entertainment
- Health and Wellness
- History Education
- Hospitality and Tourism
- Innovation, Science, and Entrepreneurship
- Youth Engagement
- Young Leaders
Throughout the summer, we’ll be introducing the council co-chairs and their vision for each council’s year-long service in a series of articles at the America250 Newsroom.
