America250 is the official organization charged by Congress with leading the nation in commemorating and celebrating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 2026. The U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission and America250.org, Inc., together known as America250, work together to design and lead the largest and most comprehensive and inspiring celebration in our country’s history. This multi-year effort aims to catalyze a more perfect union by honoring our first 250 years and inspiring the American spirit in all citizens.
Role Description
The External Engagement Intern will work closely with the Director of External Engagement to support and advance the goals of America250 and the Partnerships/Licensing team. This role will provide administrative assistance through drafting correspondence, conducting research, and preparing reports. The intern will assist with outreach to partners, consultants, and other external contacts, while also researching potential partners and their alignment with America250 initiatives. Additionally, the intern will aid in developing and disseminating content, messaging guidance, and trademarked logo files to ensure consistent and accurate brand representation across partnerships.
Essential Duties
This position will provide, but not limited to, the following:
- Administrative Assistance:
- Craft letters, memos, emails, and reports as directed
- Maintain organized records and documentation
- Support the preparation and editing of reports and communications
- Outreach and Engagement Support:
- Assist in outreach to external partners, consultants, and other stakeholders as assigned
- Aid in the development and dissemination of content and messaging guidance for partners
- Distribute appropriate logo files and ensure correct usage of trademarked America250 branding
- Research and Documentation Support:
- Conduct research on potential partners and their alignment with America250 initiatives
- Prepare reports summarizing findings and recommendations
- Maintain updated dossiers and supporting materials for partners and initiatives
