In January 2026, Colorado Springs will host a milestone community event that stands at the intersection of two powerful observances:
The Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration, and
The statewide America 250–Colorado 150 Sesquisemiquincentennial, marking 150 years of Colorado statehood and 250 years of American independence.
This year's MLK theme—"Mission Possible II: Building Community, Uniting a Nation the Nonviolent Way"—aligns directly with the anniversary year's focus on democracy, civic engagement, and the shared values that shape Colorado's future.
Our keynote speaker, Yolanda Renee King, brings national visibility and generational relevance. Her presence is expected to draw record attendance and statewide media coverage.
We also have on the same day, We invite your organization to join us:
• The MLK Prayer Breakfast (Antlers Hotel)
• The Unity Freedom March
• The UCCS Youth Educational Panel Fireside Chat
• Citywide messaging on unity and nonviolence
