America's 250th AND Colorado's 150th anniversaries are being celebrated throughout the year. The Union Colony Exchange Club and the Exchange Club of Greeley are partnering with the City of Greeley to present a field of flags at Bittersweet Park, 3501 16th Street, Greeley, CO from July 31 through August 2 with a ceremony on Saturday, August 1 at 10:00am. The field will be open to the public for all three days – children, parents, seniors – this is for everyone.

The field of flags will consist of 250 American flags and 150 Colorado flags spaced out to allow a dramatic display at the park. Each flag will contain a tag colored with American or Colorado scenes by local students. In addition, the tags will be marked with significant events in American or Colorado history.

The ceremony on August 1 will feature patriotic speeches and performances including the reading of the Declaration of Independence, an essay contest winner reading their essay on "Why I Am Proud to Be An American", a keynote address by a fourth-generation Coloradoan and more. The goal is to celebrate this significant milestone in our country's and state's histories and share our patriotism and love for our country and state.
