The American Revolution Experience, an innovative pop-up exhibition includes display panels and interactive digital kiosks that use storytelling, illustration, technology and unique artifacts and primary accounts to connect modern audiences with the people and places that shaped the birth of our nation. Created through a collaboration between the American Battlefield Trust and the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.
The exhibit will run March 19th through April 4, 2025 at the Schreiner University, Logan Library in Kerrville. The exhibit is available for viewing by guests of all ages, Monday through Thursday 10am to 7pm, Friday 10am to 4pm, Saturday 12pm to 4pm, and Sunday 1pm to 4pm, admission is free.
This is part of our preparation to celebrate the nation’s semi-quincentennial or America 250 in our local community. The traveling exhibit includes 12 panels highlighting thematic connections between profiled individuals and three interactive kiosks that connect to the full digital biographies, provide documentary context on the Revolutionary War and offer information on how to visit the places tied to these individuals today. Both online and on-site, the American Revolution Experience features custom illustrations by South Carolina-based artist Dale Watson. The exhibit also draws from documents and objects in DAR’s collection, as well as the Trust’s industry leading digital interpretation resources. This particular exhibit, owned by the Texas Society DAR, includes 2 additional panels dedicated to the contribution of Texas (New Spain) in the American Revolution. Lesson plan resources are available in advance for educators, an onsite scavenger hunt for information suitable for both students and adults will be provided, and a Declaration of Independence for guests to sign.
