The Trails & Rails Museum, in partnership with Rose Mapel of Artistic Innovations NE, is pleased to announce the Barn Quilt Community Art Project, a collaborative community art initiative celebrating creativity, heritage, and the spirit of Buffalo County as part of the American 250: Buffalo County Celebration of 2026. The project invites Buffalo County community members of all ages and skill levels to help create a large-scale barn quilt, comprised of 250 individual squares, to commemorate the nation’s Semiquincentennial. Participants are encouraged to stop by the Trails & Rails Museum to pick up instructions and materials and to learn more about barn quilt design. Community members may also register for the next Barn Quilt Workshop on June 9. Quilt to be unveiled August 2nd, 2026.

Giving 4th

A new tradition starts now.

We’ve always been a nation of givers. Imagine what could happen if we all gave at the same time. Introducing Giving 4th, our campaign that calls on all Americans to add something new to their July 4th celebrations: giving back to the causes and communities they care about.
Join the new tradition — take the pledge.
