Behind the Baton LIVE: The American West, From Copland to Kirkland (Evening)
  • Virtual

Behind the Baton LIVE: The American West, From Copland to Kirkland is a special presentation from CPR Classical and the Denver Art Museum exploring the music and art that both celebrate and challenge the identity of the American West.

Conductor and pianist Scott O'Neil, JR Henneman, Curator of Western American Art, and Becca Goodrum, Assistant Curator of The Kirkland, guide this live, multimedia experience blending performance, storytelling and visual art. In celebration of Colorado's 150th anniversary and America's 250th, the evening journeys across time and landscape—highlighting stories of resilience, artistry and identity, while inviting audiences to ponder the myth, memory and meaning of the West.

See it live at a matinee performance at 3 pm or an evening performance at 6:30 pm, both on June 16. Virtual streaming options will be available for both performances for those who can't attend in person.

Giving 4th

A new tradition starts now.

We’ve always been a nation of givers. Imagine what could happen if we all gave at the same time. Introducing Giving 4th, our campaign that calls on all Americans to add something new to their July 4th celebrations: giving back to the causes and communities they care about.
Join the new tradition — take the pledge.
