Boomtown USA Fireworks

Voted the “Best Fireworks Show in Kansas”, on July 4th Wamego becomes “BOOMTOWN USA”! The 30-minute show isn't just fireworks, it's more of a full “Pyro Musical” sensory experience. The show explodes across the Kansas sky with fireworks, flame effects, and lighting effects all intricately timed and set to coordinate with musical movements ranging from traditional patriotic songs to contemporary selections. Unlike other shows, the Wamego Fireworks are shot “in the round” with spectators siting in a full 360-degree circle around the performance. This unique setting makes for a spectacular layering effect that really must be seen to be believed.

In addition to our world class fireworks experience, we invite everyone to truly “Celebrate Freedom in Wamego”. It is a full day of all American events including a car show, carnival, and the longest running 4th of July Parade in the State. Plus, to go even more all out “America 250”, we're proud to have Fort Riley's First Infantry Division Rock Band as our featured main stage entertainment before and after the fireworks show!

This all volunteer produced show is a cutting-edge mix of small-town hard work and high-tech innovation that has made “BOOMTOWN USA” a point of pride for not just Wamego, but a destination for visitors from across the country every year. There really is “No place like Wamego” on the 4th of July.
