Clayton Community Days 2026: Community Arts & Jazz in the Park is a free, intergenerational cultural celebration hosted by New Cottage Arts in Denver's historic Clayton neighborhood. The event brings together youth, families, artists, educators, and local businesses for an afternoon of live music, community art-making, storytelling, and neighborhood connection.
Live performances will feature Atomic Jones, a band comprised of teachers from the neighboring Bruce Randolph School whose music reflects the vibrant creativity of Denver's educators and youth community, and the Paloma Rose Jazz Trio, presenting jazz traditions rooted in indigenous musical history.
The program will be hosted by a community MC and include a collaborative art workshop led by local artist Alex Saintil, who will serve as the community artist for the event. The workshop invites youth and families to participate in hands-on artmaking inspired by neighborhood history and the cultural heritage of Clayton.
Additional programming partners include local media artist Frankie Lee Allen, director of Pitiful Smile Media, who is collaborating with New Cottage Arts on youth media storytelling workshops connected to the Clayton Community Days series.
Clayton Community Days is a multi-event series designed to uplift the histories, cultures, and creative voices of Black, Indigenous, Latine, and immigrant communities in Northeast Denver. Through music, art, and storytelling, the series invites youth and elders to share the stories that have shaped their neighborhood and contributed to Colorado's cultural landscape.
This event contributes to the America 250 – Colorado 150 commemoration by highlighting the local communities, artists, and educators whose stories are part of Colorado's 150-year history and the broader American story. By centering youth voices, neighborhood heritage, and artistic expression, Clayton Community Days celebrates the role of community culture in shaping Colorado's past, present, and future.
The event is free and open to the public and welcomes residents from Clayton, Cole, Whittier, and surrounding Denver neighborhoods.
