Flutes on the Fourth

Celebrate July 4th at the Sackets Harbor Battlefield historic site listening to "The Silver Tones Flute Choir" performing the piece "Flutes on the Fourth" for only the second time in the USA. The original "Flutes on the 4th" began in 2022 in Gettysburg PA. The local group will play early American music arranged for flute choir, specifically for "Flutes on the 4th." The organizers fulfilled a dream, when they founded "Flutes on the 4th" and their hope is that the trend will spread throughout the country. They are therefore only the second group to help get this tradition started, and it’s right here in the North Country at the historic battlegrounds in Sackets Harbor. The group will play 30 minutes (or a bit longer) of early American music in the historic navy yard outdoors. After enjoying the music take a tour of the navy yard buildings, stroll the grounds, and follow the history trail.
