Labor Day Lift off 50th Anniversary

The America 250 Colorado 150 Commission is taking its milestone celebrations to new heights with Stories in the Sky, a series of nearly 150 community drone shows lighting up Colorado’s skies from September 2025 through December 2026, creating unforgettable moments for millions of Coloradans and visitors alike.

The Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift Off, is one of the largest and longest-running hot air balloon festivals in the Rocky Mountain region. Held annually over Labor Day Weekend at Memorial Park, this beloved free, family-friendly event features more than 70 colorful hot air balloons ascending into the sky at dawn, illuminating balloon glows in the evenings, live entertainment, food vendors, skydiving demonstrations, and activities for visitors of all ages. Attendees gather each morning to watch the majestic mass ascensions against the stunning backdrop of Pikes Peak, enjoy concerts and community activities throughout the day, and experience band performances and evening glows under the stars.
