Songs of Love and Freedom: The Music of Mother Ann Lee

This is a choral concert followed by a Shaker-style meal honoring the revolutionary leadership of Ann Lee, and will be held in the Shaker's beautiful 1848 Meeting House. It will feature music sung by the Shakers during the Revolutionary War period. The piece was researched and arranged by American composer Kevin Siegfried. Through song, the performance will celebrate Ann Lee's legacy as the founder of a movement dedicated to the Revolutionary ideal of liberty, and deep commitment to pacifism, human equality, and community.
