Join us for a special Ten Broeck Mansion book club celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States! Using noted historian Alice Kenney's classic Albany: Crossroads of Liberty (published for the nation's bicentennial celebration in 1976) as our starting point, we will explore this text together. Questions we will consider include: What was Albany's role in the American Revolution? What makes Albany such a unique American story? What is Albany's identity? How do museums and historians tell inclusive stories, drawing on new sources? Participants will be invited to search our online digitized resources, and suggest additions to Kenney's study, as more resources have become available in the 50 years since the book was published.

Giving 4th

A new tradition starts now.

We’ve always been a nation of givers. Imagine what could happen if we all gave at the same time. Introducing Giving 4th, our campaign that calls on all Americans to add something new to their July 4th celebrations: giving back to the causes and communities they care about.
Join the new tradition — take the pledge.
