The Texas America250 exhibit highlights historically significant Texas Treasures from the State Archives, encouraging all Americans to explore the story of the Lone Star State over the past 250 years. From Spanish missions to the space race, the landscape, culture, economy, and people of Texas have played essential roles in the development of the United States. Event speakers include Texas A&M International University President Dr. Christopher Maynard and Associate Professor of History, Dr. Deborah Blackwell, who will deliver a lecture titled "Votes for Women: The Woman Suffrage Movement in Texas." Attendees are invited to view the exhibit and enjoy refreshments after the program. The week after the event, the exhibit will be available for viewing throughout the summer in the Special Collections & Archives Reading Room.
