Encouraged by their teachers and parents, thousands of Texas students in grades 6 to 12 participate in the National History Day contest. The best entries will bring their projects to be judged at the annual state-level competition, organized by the Texas State Historical Association and held at the Bullock Museum and the University of Texas on April 11. Students compete in five categories: exhibits, websites, papers, performances, and documentaries. The winners will move on to Nationals in Washington, D.C. this summer.
The Texas History Day contest takes place at the Bullock Museum and at the University of Texas at Austin. All exhibits entries will be displayed at the Bullock Museum with public viewing from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. on April 11.
