America's VetDogs and the Guide Dog Foundation are driven by more than 1,400 passionate volunteers. For 80 years, the dedication and generosity of our volunteers and donors have continue to move our mission forward each day. With their support, we are able to enhance the lives of people who are blind, and have low vision, and for veterans, active-duty servicemembers, and first responders with physical and emotional disabilities.

As a token of our appreciation, we are pleased to hold our annual Volunteer Recognition Day at The Rinx in Hauppauge, NY. This special event, which will also officially kick off our America250 celebration, is our way of celebrating our volunteers, their families, the civic organizations who give their time and money, and the remarkable dogs and individuals we serve who make our work possible.

The day kicks off with a celebration of our longstanding partnership with Lions Clubs International. An estimated 30 Long Island-based Lions Clubs will attend a morning ceremony celebrating their enduring support of the Guide Dog Foundation and America's VetDogs.

The event will include free ice skating, a special lunch, and a variety of activities for children, making it a wonderful opportunity for everyone to enjoy and continue to learn more about our organizations and the roles volunteers can play.

Giving 4th

A new tradition starts now.

We’ve always been a nation of givers. Imagine what could happen if we all gave at the same time. Introducing Giving 4th, our campaign that calls on all Americans to add something new to their July 4th celebrations: giving back to the causes and communities they care about.
Join the new tradition — take the pledge.
