What does America mean to you?
By Pippy R.
Louisville, Kentucky
America Is now a place
Where anyone is welcome
Which means a girl from Guatemala
Can be on American Idol
And my Muslim neighbors
Share their trampoline
America Is now a place
Where anyone can vote
Which means when I grow up
My black best friend
And I will vote together
For who represents us
America Is now a place
Where anything can be written
Or said
And we can protest
And speak up
So everyone
Who will ever
Live in America
Can speak out
To me America means rights for me and rights for everyone else.
