What does America mean to you?
By Sybil Z.
Minneapolis, Minnesota
During this spring’s music program, my music teacher described my third-grade class, which started remotely in Kindergarten during COVID, not as survivors but thrivers.
America, too, was built on thrivers fighting for change, like Susan B. Anthony and Martin Luther King Jr. Susan B. Anthony wanted change for womens rights and Martin Luther King Jr. fought for civil rights. These thrivers had ideas for a better, stronger America. They helped make our country great.
I look forward to my generation of thrivers making change, like helping to save our planet and ending hate towards people based on culture and beliefs.
