Leading up to the largest commemoration and celebration in American history, America250 is planning a multi-year, national effort to engage, educate, and unite Americans from sea to shining sea through the following tentpole programs.

America’s Field Trip
A multi-year contest that invites students in grades 3-12 to submit artwork, videos, and essays, answering the question, “What does America mean to you?” for the chance to earn unique experiences at iconic American historical and cultural sites.
America Gives
An effort focused on reinvigorating a year-round culture of service beyond 2026 – grounded in three key pillars: charitable giving, volunteering, and public service – which includes military service.
America's Invitation
Your story is America’s story and Americans from all walks of life are sharing theirs in response to America’s Invitation. Your reflections on our past, present, and future are helping us create the most inclusive commemoration in history.
Coming Soon
- America’s Performance: This powerful concert series will unite audiences through the rhythm, diversity, and soul of American music. From country to jazz, gospel to rock, each performance will inspire connection and pride—reminding us of the strength we find in shared experiences and the joy of live music.
- America Waves: An initiative designed to create moments for all Americans to come together with their communities, to wave their American flags, celebrate America’s 250th, and honor the contributions of those who brought us to where we are today.
- America Innovates: A traveling tech expo that will display America’s greatest innovations as well as our aspirations for the future, asking the next generation of creators what innovations they want to create that will be critical for the next 250 years.
- The Great American State Fair: In July 2026, Washington, D.C. will host a spectacular State Fair unlike any other. Every U.S. state and territory will bring its unique spirit, traditions, and pride to the capital, creating a dynamic celebration of our national heritage, innovation, and culture. It will be a vibrant showcase of the people and stories that make America extraordinary.
- Time Capsule: A collaboration between America250, Library of Congress, National Institute of Standards and Technology, and the National Park Service to collect items for a time capsule to be installed at Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia on July 4, 2026.
- July 4th 2026 Activations: A national celebration in Washington, DC and across the country on July 4, 2026 in which we will partner with established groups who host legacy July 4th events as well as parade organizers at the state and local levels.
