“350 for 250” milestone symbolizes America250’s mission to engage all 350 million Americans in the nation’s Semiquincentennial

Washington, D.C., December 23, 2025 — America250, the nonpartisan organization charged by Congress to lead the commemoration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, today announced that the Congressional America250 Caucus has officially reached 350 members, reaching one Member of Congress for every million Americans as the nation prepares for its Semiquincentennial.

With this achievement, the Caucus — already recognized as the largest bicameral, bipartisan congressional caucus ever recorded in Congress — cements its place in history. The milestone was reached on December 18, when the 350th Member officially joined the Caucus, capping a final push to meet the year-end goal and giving “350 for 250” new meaning as both a measure of congressional unity and a reflection of America250’s broader mission to engage all 350 million Americans.

“Reaching 350 Caucus Members is more than a symbolic milestone; it is a powerful affirmation of what this anniversary represents,” said Rosie Rios, America250 Chair. “This gives new meaning to our goal of engaging 350 million Americans in the Semiquincentennial and demonstrates that our elected leaders can still unite around the foundational ideals that bind us together. But we’re not stopping here. We are raising the bar and challenging ourselves to reach 400 members by March 1 — launching the next chapter of this movement and inviting even more leaders to help carry it forward.”

The Caucus’s growth reflects its broad bipartisan appeal, with current membership composed of approximately 45% Democrats and 55% Republicans. The near-even split underscores the organic and equitable nature of the effort, reinforcing the bipartisan support behind America250’s “350 for 250” initiative. In addition, the Caucus includes 51 U.S. Senators — representing over half of the United States Senate — further underscoring the reach and significance of this milestone.

“This momentum reflects the dedication of Members and staff who recognize how meaningful this moment is for our country,” said America250 Vice Chair Cathy Gillespie, who has been instrumental in growing the Caucus. “From day one, this effort has been about building an inclusive, bipartisan Caucus that reflects the full breadth of the nation — and we’re energized to keep expanding that engagement as we move toward the Semiquincentennial.”

Several states have reached notable milestones as part of the effort. In states such as Maine, Arkansas, New Jersey, Alabama, Virginia, West Virginia and more, every member of the congressional delegation — including all U.S. Senators and House Members — have joined the Caucus. Texas currently has the largest representation with 34 Members, followed by California with 31 Members, reflecting strong engagement across the country.

The Congressional America250 Caucus provides a bipartisan forum for Members of Congress and their staff to engage in planning, supporting, and promoting the nation’s Semiquincentennial. Members will be instrumental in helping constituents participate in America250’s local, state and national programming. The Caucus supports America250’s broader effort to engage all 350 million Americans in this once-in-a-generation national commemoration.

“After serving nearly two years as an America250 Commissioner, I’ve seen Americans’ enthusiasm for this moment firsthand, and I could not think of a better way to officially welcome our Semiquincentennial year,” said Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.). “Reaching 350 members reflects Congressional leadership’s strong support for the vision of this Commission and its remarkable journey to engage Americans in every corner of the country. This milestone is about more than a celebration—it’s a meaningful symbol of how Congress can honor our shared history, and ensure the Semiquincentennial resonates well beyond 2026.”
