Washington, D.C. (June 26, 2026) — America250, the national nonpartisan organization charged by Congress to lead the commemoration of the nation’s 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, today announced a partnership with Chifles®, the family-owned snack company whose journey reflects entrepreneurship, resilience, and hard work. Built by an immigrant family and grown over more than six decades, Chifles has transformed a beloved Latin American tradition into America’s No. 1 plantain chip brand — a testament to family values and the enduring promise of opportunity in America, now loved coast to coast.

The partnership is rooted in a shared story. For America250, Chifles is exactly the kind of brand the 250th anniversary is meant to celebrate — a living example of the American dream, built by a Cuban-American family, grown through hard work and authentic flavor, and now embraced by Americans of every background nationwide. For Chifles, the 250th anniversary is the moment to step fully into that story: to stand alongside the nation and declare that what began as a small family business is now woven into the fabric of American life.

“At the heart of America’s story are entrepreneurs, innovators, and families whose perseverance helps strengthen our communities and shape our nation,” said Rosie Rios, Chair of America250. “Chifles embodies that spirit. The company reflects the resilience, determination, and cultural richness that define our country. Together, we will inspire Americans to celebrate this historic milestone and the many stories that make America unique.”

As part of the partnership, Chifles will release a limited-edition America250 version of its iconic 9oz Original Plantain Chips, with commemorative packaging now available at major retailers nationwide wherever Chifles products are sold.

Chifles’ presence will extend beyond retail shelves. The brand will have a visual presence at America250’s Giving 4th celebrations, including America’s Block Party at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on July 4 and the Giving 4th Broadcast Benefit Show at One Times Square on July 3, where Chifles will also distribute product directly to attendees.

“What started as one family’s dream has become the American dream and a brand loved by all Americans — from coast to coast, in kitchens that grew up with us and kitchens discovering us for the first time,” said Tony Rivas Jr., President and CEO of Chifles. “For sixty years, Chifles has been part of this country’s story. To stand alongside America250 and celebrate 250 years of the dream that made us possible means everything to our family and our team. This is our way of saying thank you to this country.”

The partnership extends through America250’s broader Giving 4th campaign, supporting the organization’s mission to transform Independence Day into a new national tradition of generosity and shared community impact.

About Chifles®

Chifles® (pronounced CHIEF-les) was established in Tampa, Florida in 1963. The founding family was inspired by vendors who sold plantain chips on the streets of Havana, Cuba. At the time, not many people were looking for gluten-free, vegan snacks but it was no secret that plantain chips were delicious. Shortly after arriving from Cuba, Tony Rivas Sr. began distributing Chifles® and soon became the biggest distributor in Florida. Tony Jr. followed in his dad’s footsteps. They purchased the company and worked together to introduce Chifles® to stores across the USA. Today, Chifles® is America’s No. 1 plantain chip brand, sold at major retailers nationwide.

Leading up to July 4, 2026, America250 is working to provide opportunities for all Americans to pause and reflect on our nation’s past, honor the contributions of all Americans, and look to the future we want to create for the next generation and beyond.
