As we ring in the New Year, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey America250 has embarked on over the last twelve months. It has been a year filled with achievement, collaboration, and meaningful connection as we build toward the largest and most inclusive commemoration in our nation’s history in 2026.

In July, we kicked off our countdown to America’s 250th anniversary with the launch of America’s Invitation at a Major League Baseball game with 40,000 fans between the Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs. This initiative opened the door for us to capture the diverse and inspiring stories of thousands of Americans from coast to coast, with 946 submissions to date. Your contributions shape a panoramic portrait of America.

We are also seeing this momentum in communities all across the country, with 42 state and territorial commissions now in place, putting us well on the way to our goal of forming commissions in every state and territory. These commissions will be at the heart of efforts in 2026, ensuring that every community in America feels a part of this major milestone for our nation.

And this month, we were proud to unveil a dynamic and vibrant new brand identity. The ribbons that form our logo represent commemoration, celebration, and purpose and will hopefully leave a legacy that will be felt for generations to come.

Finally, we were thrilled to sponsor the 250th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party, the first of many milestones on the road to July 4, 2026. As part of the festivities, there was a live reenactment of dumping of tea in the Boston Harbor! In fact, people from across the nation sent in tea for the occasion. Check out some highlights from the event here.

Looking ahead to 2024, I am excited about the opportunity to engage more and more Americans in this historic event. Together, we will continue to build on the success of this year and create a commemoration that reflects the diversity, resilience, and spirit of our great nation.
