Steamboat Creates' resident artists present a collaborative show in the Main Gallery and Bliss Gallery marking two milestones: United States' 250th and Colorado's 150th anniversaries. Rather than centering specific events, the exhibition reflects on our land, people, culture, and the layered experiences that shape our identity and national character. Think, "this land is your land, this land is my land."

These anniversaries are not fixed points, but evolving markers in the American experiment and the Declaration of Independence. They are shaped by movement, memory, and lived experience. The American story, like Colorado's, is not singular. It is continually rewritten by those within it.

Through texture, color, and form, the work explores how our history is felt as much as it is recorded. It invites reflection on what is carried forward, what is reimagined, and what remains unresolved. At its core is a quiet insistence on connection—on the human drive to be free, to prosper, to belong, and to be heard.

This exhibition does not attempt to define these anniversaries but instead creates space to question them. It asks viewers to consider their own relationship to our history, our values, one another, and to recognize that we are always in motion.

We, as an artist collective, hope that our work will bring forth contemplations of common ground with each other as we celebrate that motion which obviously includes inspiration from the beauty of this land we call home.
