In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States, the South County Fourth of July Parade Committee proudly presents the 50th Annual Parade themed “America 250!”—a vibrant tribute to our nation’s legacy and future. Held in The Woodlands Town Center, this milestone event will honor the spirit of independence through a dynamic procession of patriotic floats, marching bands, community groups, and veteran organizations.
The parade steps off at 9:00 AM on July 4, 2026, with a cannon salute by "Rolling Thunder" presented by the Lone Star Volunteers who are also members of the Sons of the Republic of Texas. Pre-parade festivities begin at 8:00 AM, including a ceremonial flag raising, musical performances, and a special recognition of Montgomery County’s oldest living veteran. We anticipate over 30,000 attendees, including families, federal, state, and local elected officials, civic leaders, youth groups, and visitors from across the region. The event is fully wheelchair accessible and designed to foster community pride, historical reflection, and inclusive celebration.
The parade route is 1.2 miles and will showcase seven high school marching bands and possibly one college marching band. A local chapter of The Sons of the American Revolution will present the colors with a drum and fife corps and they and the Daughters of the American Revolution will be honored and recognized. Eagle Scouts will carry the lead parade banner and the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto have been invited to participate in a meaningful way. One hundred and fifty entries are anticipated to register for the parade.
The 158th Aviation Regiment, 1st Battalion – better known as the “Ghost Riders” has been invited to participate and perform a flyover, which may be their last before they are decommissioned.
Requests for Armed Forces Appearances in Public Events (Aviation and Non-Aviation) will be submitted per the schedule in the guidelines of DOD.
As an official Texas America250 event, the parade will spotlight themes of history and preservation, arts and culture, and community gathering—aligning with the Commission’s mission to commemorate America’s semiquincentennial with meaningful public engagement. We invite all generations to join us in honoring the past, celebrating the present, and inspiring the future.
