How does experience relate to placemaking? Where do buildings and ideas come together? Come consider as well as answer these questions and more as we learn about the stories and landmarks that built Black life in Boulder in the 19th and 20th centuries. Together, we will explore the social and cultural centers that Black residents in Boulder lived, worshipped, and celebrated in, reflecting how communities build "place" through practices, beliefs, and meaning-making. The tour will conclude with a conversation on the present and future of Black experiences in the city.
