America 250 Time Capsule Installation Ceremony

The Student Government Association at ASU-Beebe will install a commemorative time capsule within a wall cavity of the McKay Student Center in honor of two historic milestones: the United States Semiquincentennial (July 4, 2026) and the City of Beebe Sesquicentennial (May 4, 2025). Throughout the Spring 2026 semester, Student Government will solicit objects and written reflections from students and employees that capture American culture in the year 2026. The time capsule will be installed on Monday, May 4, 2026—the 151st anniversary of the City of Beebe—symbolizing the college's connection to the community it serves. A commemorative plaque will be placed over the capsule’s location, noting its purpose, and clearly indicating that it is to be opened in the 2075–2076 academic year in celebration of the town’s Bicentennial and the nation’s Tricentennial.
