Celebrate Maryland Day at Captain Avery Museum

The CAM will host family friendly activities beginning at 12:30 pm with a reading by the author of Osprey Storytelling for the Family. Local author Janie Suss will join us and read from her book, "Oscar and Olive Osprey: A Family Takes Flight." She will talk to us about writing the book and the real osprey family that inspired the story. There will also be a crafts table for kids throughout the day.

2pm Film showing brought to CAM by the Chesapeake Legal Alliance's Executive Director, David Reed, presents the Bill McKeever film "The Biggest Little Fish You've Never Seen", followed by a short presentation which explores how we can address the damage caused by the industrial menhaden fishing industry and what advocates are doing about it now.
