Celebrate250 Columbus – Bartholomew County

Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary in the heart of downtown Columbus, IN with a full day of patriotic pride, community spirit, and family fun! Celebrate250 on July 4, 2026 brings together the City of Columbus and Bartholomew County for an unforgettable all-day celebration honoring our nation’s history and future.

The festivities begin with the Columbus Farmers Market from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at City Hall, followed by a moving patriotic presentation from the Bartholomew County Honor Guard featuring the presentation of the colors, Taps, a 21-gun salute, and a special dedication ceremony in the heart of Downtown Columbus.

Enjoy a vibrant patriotic parade through downtown, interactive kids activities hosted by kidscommons, the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), and the Bartholomew County Public Library, plus a lively cultural dance party and additional entertainment throughout the day. Also, expect fun surprises throughout the day!

Bring your family, show your red, white, and blue, and join us as we celebrate 250 years of American independence. Events take place from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Downtown Columbus.
