In 1976, Clayton Elementary proudly earned recognition as a Centennial School by the Colorado Centennial Commission and was honored as part of the nation's Bicentennial celebration by Gerald Ford. That same year, after months of inspiring patriotism, community service, and unwavering school spirit, Clayton's Student Council left a lasting legacy—planting a Liberty Memorial Tree and sealing a time capsule to carry their hopes forward to May 2001.
Today, that spirit burns just as brightly. This year, our Student Council proudly celebrates Colorado's 150th anniversary while honoring the historic milestones of 1976 and 2001. As we rededicate the Liberty Tree, we unite past and present, welcoming generations of Englewood School alumni to stand together in shared pride and tradition.
It would be our great honor to be included in Colorado's twin commemorations as we celebrate our heritage, our community, and the enduring American spirit that continues to guide us forward.
