Join us for a day of honor and remembrance as we pay tribute to the service and sacrifice of our fallen military service members. This commemorative event brings together runners, volunteers, Gold Star Families, and community supporters in a shared act of remembrance that reflects the enduring values upon which our nation and state were built.
Each mile is dedicated to an individual fallen service member. As participants progress, every hero is recognized by name, with their rank and date of loss respectfully called aloud, ensuring that their service is not abstract, but personal, remembered, and honored. This mile-by-mile dedication transforms physical effort into a living memorial—connecting past sacrifice to present action.
In alignment with the America 250 and Colorado 150 themes, this event:
- Preserves historical memory by naming and honoring individual service members.
- Engages the public through active, inclusive participation across generations.
- Strengthens civic identity by connecting national sacrifice to our local communities.
- Ensures legacy, reinforcing that freedom is sustained by real people whose lives mattered.
By recognizing each fallen hero individually, this event affirms that remembrance is not a single moment, but an ongoing responsibility—one carried forward by citizens, families, and communities alike as we reflect on 250 years of American history and 150 years of Colorado's place within it.
