Community Picnic at Peel Museum & Botanical Garden celebrates America’s 250th anniversary through a blend of past and present, highlighting “way back then” with a nod to 1776, “back then” through the story of the 1875 Peel Museum, and “now” with a vibrant day in the gardens. The event features food and drinks, live music, historical dancing, and special appearances including Patriot, a female bald eagle from the World Bird Sanctuary, alongside representatives from the Arkansas National Guard, Bentonville Police, and Fire Departments. Attendees can enjoy a wide range of family-friendly activities such as face painting, balloon art, caricatures, yard and inflatable games, scavenger hunts, and hands-on heritage experiences like soap making, textiles, tallow cream, pie activities, pinch pot crafts, and flag creation, creating an engaging celebration of history, community, and culture for all ages.
