The public is invited to a free screening of “Hazel's Heart” at 1 p.m. Monday, March 16, at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck.

Based on the true story, the film tells the harrowing tale of Hazel Miner, a 16-year-old girl who fought to keep her two younger siblings alive during a devastating blizzard that struck Center, North Dakota, in March 1920. The family endured 25 hours of subzero temperatures as the storm raged. The showing marks the anniversary of Miner’s death on March 16, 1920, following her heroic actions.

Following the screening, participate in a question-and-answer session with Daniel Bielinski, who wrote, directed, and produced the film.
