On March 24, 1825, the Marquis de Lafayette paid a visit to the town of Hamburg, SC during his tour of the southern and western states of the US. Lafayette, a French aristocrat, had supported the American colonies in their struggle against the English crown. A lifelong friend of George Washington, Lafayette was celebrated with a great pomp wherever he went. Please join us Monday, March 24, 2025 at the Arts & Heritage Center as we commemorate this historic event. Free and open to the public
