Join the Wings of Honor Museum on Saturday, April 18, 2026, for “They Said Yes! Brighter Days Ahead,” a special all-day commemorative observance marking the 84th anniversary of the site selection of the Walnut Ridge Army Airfield. On this historic ground, thousands of young Americans answered their nation’s call — training, serving with honor, and preparing to carry the fight for freedom overseas during World War II. This remembrance program connects Lawrence County’s legacy to the nationwide America250 celebration honoring our nation’s 250th anniversary.
Museum admission is free from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the official commemorative program beginning at 11:00 a.m.
