Join us for a memorable, family-friendly celebration as Kenly comes together to honor America’s 250th Birthday!
Kenly Parks and Recreation, in partnership with the Kenly Police Department, is proud to host Kenly’s Stars & Stripes 250th Celebration—a free community event celebrating our nation’s history, unity, and spirit.
This special event will feature participation from Kenly Parks and Recreation, the Kenly Police Department, Kenly Fire Department, Kenly Public Library, Kenly Historical Society, Kenly Area Chamber of Commerce, North Johnston High School Chorus, North Johnston High School Junior ROTC, Kenly American Legion, and Kenly’s Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
For the entire month of June, we’re inviting residents to join our Home & Yard Decorating Contest. Deck out your home in red, white, and blue, honor America’s history, and celebrate the spirit of the 4th of July with creative, patriotic displays.
On July 3rd, enjoy an evening full of fun and patriotism for all ages, including:
-Free food and refreshments featuring hot dogs, cheeseburgers, and drinks
-Inflatables, games, and face painting for kids
-A costume contest where children can dress as famous American historical figures
-A presentation of the colors and readings from America’s founding documents
-Patriotic musical performances by the North Johnston High School Chorus
-A live DJ providing music and entertainment throughout the event
This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our country’s rich history while bringing the Kenly community together for an evening of fun, learning, and pride.
