The landmark event in Los Angeles will be a centerpiece of Giving 4th, a new America250 initiative to make charitable giving a national tradition of Independence Day.
America250 is the only national, nonpartisan organization charged by Congress to help lead the celebration and commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Its mission is to engage all 350 million Americans through national programming, major events, partnerships and public participation opportunities.
“America’s Block Party in Los Angeles is bringing together an extraordinary lineup of artists whose music has shaped generations and continues to resonate with audiences today,” said Rosie Rios, Chair of America250. “We’re honored to have Chaka Khan and Anthony Ramos join this historic celebration as we commemorate America’s 250th anniversary through music, community, and a shared spirit of giving.”
Celebratory Moments and Special Performances
The Benefit Show will also feature festive moments honoring the spirit of the nation including a presentation of the color guard, the Pledge of Allegiance led by three troops from Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles, and multiple performances from The Pack Drumline. The evening will also include a special revival of Coca-Cola’s “I’d Like to Buy America a Coke” performance, featuring original commercial lead singer Renard Hughes, dancers, and a choir in a reimagined tribute to one of America’s most recognizable musical moments. Anthony Ramos will kick off the evening with the National Anthem, setting the stage for a night of music, service, and celebration.
“July 4 is about community — the people who raised us, the places that shaped us, and the future we’re building together,” said Anthony Ramos. “I’m excited to be part of a celebration that brings music, culture, and giving back into one national moment.”
Pre-Show Fan Experience
At 3:00 p.m. PDT, the Block Party Village will open to ticket holders outside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum as an immersive pre-show fan destination, featuring nearly 20 activations with food and beverage offerings, photo moments, games, giveaways, live entertainment, and family-friendly experiences. Guests can connect with nonprofit organizations and community partners, participate in service opportunities, and support causes they care about as part of the nationwide Giving 4th movement.
Giving 4th, Turning July 4 into a Day of Generosity
America’s Block Party is America250’s national platform for Giving 4th, the historic initiative aiming to permanently transform Independence Day into a new national tradition of generosity and shared community impact. Designed to be a lasting legacy of America’s Semiquincentennial for generations to come, the initiative calls on all Americans to add something new to their July 4th celebrations: giving back to the causes and communities they care about.
This summer, participants are invited to pledge their support to a cause and fulfill these pledges on July 4 and beyond by donating directly to any registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, shifting the focus of Independence Day from passive celebration to active, local investment. To ensure measurable impact, America250 will collaborate with GivingTuesday, the global generosity movement, to track charitable donations nationwide.
The Los Angeles event will connect the West Coast to a nationwide celebration that begins on the East Coast with the July 3 Ball Drops at One Times Square and builds into a shared day of celebration and giving on July 4. Additional America’s Block Party locations include Summerfest in Milwaukee, Fort Campbell Festival in Kentucky, SC250 Charleston, the City of Boston, and One Philly.
Watch in the Livestream and Listen on iHeartRadio
Americans can join the livestream from home featuring America’s Block Party performances, celebratory tributes, and ways to give back as part of Giving 4th on July 3–4 on the America’s Block Party Mobile App and America250.org. America250 will also work with iHeartRadio to bring the New York and Los Angeles benefit show performances to listeners nationwide, with more details to come.

America250 continues to build nationwide participation through values-based programming focused on service, storytelling, education, innovation, culture and community engagement.
